Course Description

This course is a history of art from neoclassicism to contemporary art. Concepts, artists, works and styles of the periods will be studied through the use of a textbook, slides, videos and projects.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

  1. demonstrate a clear understanding of social, individual and period styles from the Neoclassical through Contemporary art.
  2. Apply art history concepts and styles to appropriate studio exercises.
  3. Utilize art history concepts in future courses within specific curricula.
